Sound
Senses

Exploring how sound shapes buildings, cities and everyday life.
Sound shapes the way people experience buildings, neighbourhoods and everyday environments far more than most people realise.
It influences how we live, work, rest and connect with the spaces around us.
My approach combines environmental acoustics, building acoustics and soundscape thinking to better understand how acoustic environments interact with buildings, infrastructure and human experience in the real world. From environmental noise and urban soundscapes to vibration control and acoustic comfort, the focus is on creating environments that are both technically considered and genuinely comfortable to inhabit.
I believe good acoustic design is not only technical, it is deeply connected to perception, wellbeing and the character of everyday environments.
A collection of thoughts, observations and acoustic perspectives exploring how sound shapes buildings, cities and everyday environments, from environmental acoustics and urban soundscapes to the subtle ways sound influences comfort, attention and human experience in modern life.
